Revive and Rejuvenate 4 Night Yoga Health Retreat 2020

“I just want to say I had such a wonderful time at your retreat. You are an amazing host and teacher and made everyone instantly welcome, especially on arrival as everyone was feeling their way.
I loved the relaxed informal pace of the retreat and the flexibility of changing the schedule to suit the clients.
The food was also sensational.
We learnt so much and it was great that our education was obtained throughout the cooking demonstrations and integrated throughout the meal.

It was also wonderful how everyone got on so well.”  September 2019

“I loved every minute of May’s retreat. It was so relaxing, I felt really looked after and we ate the most amazing, nutritious food. I enjoyed the daily yoga sessions and my massage session was just what I needed. I can’t wait to go back!”

This retreat is based at Chateau de la Vigne, a holiday property I have owned and run for the past 18 years.

I’ve put together a fantastic schedule, based very closely on previous years’ highly successful retreats with my expert team and I’m absolutely thrilled to be sharing this dream break with you all.

We’ll practice yoga twice daily, walk or cycle in the peaceful and tranquil French countryside, cook some fabulous recipes together and enjoy delicious healthy meals. With a relaxed programme of discussions, activities, massage treatments and lots of friendly advice, we will explore, over the 4 days, what it really means to “eat well” and how to go about doing so in our busy lives.

We’ll also get out and about and you’ll have an opportunity to visit the beautiful nearby town of Saumur, the local vineyards and even enjoy a private wine-tasting session with a top sommelier.

You’ll leave at the end of the retreat with plenty of empowering knowledge, tasty recipe ideas, as well as a goodie bag and a clear idea of how to embark on and sustain a healthy lifestyle.

With the weather gorgeous but the summer crowds reduced, June and September are perfect months to visit this beautiful region.

Please note that this retreat is open to all level of yogis, from beginners to long-time enthusiasts. Our expert instructor, Jamie Blowers runs renowned teacher training courses and has years of experience behind him; you’ll know you’re in good hands within seconds!

We have been running our retreats for over 5 years now and they’re getting better and better! The essence is on relaxing and experiencing a new way of eating and living but it is very important that you also leave with a clear idea of how to continue some of the things you have experienced on the retreat – we help you with that!

It’s a beautiful and tranquil setting and a lovely group of like-minded people. I love running them, along with my team who are all experts in their field.

“Thanks May for such a wonderful retreat recently at your special château in the Loire. You thoroughly spoiled us all with delicious, healthy food, useful recipe demonstrations and trips to the local area. I loved the daily walks, yoga sessions and the fabulous treatments. Thank you for all your effort in making sure we all had a great time with such a lovely group of people.”

I have a life rule never to give reviews, but this is different….

I already had what I thought was a good diet and exercise regime before I went on May’s Retreat, but I learned so much! Her encyclopaedic knowledge of nutrition is extraordinary. Jamie’s yoga is more athletic than I’m used to, but after doing it twice a day on the Retreat I am addicted. (And I’ve had compliments on my technique from two different yoga instructors since getting home!)

I have felt amAAAzing since getting home: physically stronger, and more energetic both mentally and physically. I tweaked my diet and get fresh ideas for family meals from her website every now and then. The chocolate bark and sardine pate have both had repeat requests – the pate particularly lives in the fridge for quick snacks – my sons love it.

The weird thing is, having listened to May’s advice about nutrition, I’ve stopped the constant fat-dodging, feel hungry less, I’m happier because I don’t feel constantly deprived, and …. I’m losing weight!

That final paragraph is awesome! Achieving food freedom is incredibly liberating; making great choices becomes so natural and easy, particularly when you feel great for it. So wonderful to read this, thank you so much for taking the time to write this.

Really inspiring few days away at May’s Health and Yoga Retreat. It’s a great way to kick start a new focus: making what you eat count. Great practical demonstrations, you can see exactly how easy it is to make nutritious meals, and then get to enjoy them too. May is a font of knowledge on nutrition with a real practical and approachable style that makes it fun. The yoga was excellent – pushing us all to test our capabilities, and realise improved posture and flexibility within a short period of time.

I returned from May’s last retreat almost 1 month ago.
Firstly I just want to extend a big thank you to May. I just want to say I had such a wonderful time at your retreat. You are an amazing host and teacher and made everyone instantly welcome , especially on arrival while everyone feeling their way. I arrived by myself being dropped off by my husband to be greeted by May . She has such a warm friendly smile and is such a personable lady and she made me feel instantly welcome.
I loved the relaxed informal pace of the retreat and the flexibility of changing the schedule to suit the clients. The food was also sensational.
We learnt so much and it was great that our education was obtained throughout the cooking demonstrations and integrated throughout the meal at night.
Jade and Charlie were such an asset and lovely assistants in the kitchen and of course Jamie delightful and a great yoga teacher as well. And what an incredible back massage that he gave.
I considered myself a healthy eater in general and understood the principals of good nutrition but of course couldn’t resist temptation at work to eat rubbish such as biscuits, chips and cake.
Since returning from May’s retreat I’ve been so inspired to be ‘the best I can ‘ and fuel my body correctly.
Needing to take 2 weeks off work whilst my husband away has afforded me the opportunity re stock my pantry with some essentials and cook myself nutritious meals each day based on May’s principles and recipes from food eaten whilst
eaten on the retreat. Not one bit of rubbish has entered my mouth, I feel great and I’ve lost 3 kilos.
Thanks May your such an inspiration .

So happy to hear you’ve continued with all you were introduced to on the retreat; it’s this sustainable approach that I aim for. Thanks so much for posting this!

I joined the retreat last June and I am going to book it again for 2020… never in my life I have booked the same holiday twice, but this Yoga retreat is different and I just can’t wait to join again! What is special to this retreat is a perfect combination of things I have never ever found elsewhere.
What I mean is that usually yoga retreats are just about yoga, while cooking demonstrations are just about new recipes, or holidays in France are just about sightseeing … so having a 4-night stay with 2 daily yoga classes + super delicious & healthy meals, cooking demonstrations packed with nutritional tips in an amazing French chateau …all in one is definitely something I loved!

Yoga and cooking are at a professional level, and yet with no nonsense or radical approach, and after experiencing the retreat I now understand what is “the May-way”! Doing things seriously but in a doable way, so that when you come home you feel you can keep doing the same things without making a revolution! And that was exactly my case!

As an “occasional” yogi, I was afraid I might find people too expert for me and that I could feel a bit out-of-place, while what I had was an amazing yoga teacher who ran classes very professionally (no chit chat in class!) for people at all levels, but is the funniest and friendliest teacher ever out of the class!

Finally … May: she is such a great host, a chef and a nutritionist! As a healthy eater, used to choosing fresh ingredients from the market (I am Italian and I live in a small town in Italy ☀️) l was looking for new recipes, but May… oh my, she’s given a lot more! Nutritional tips, new ideas and good motivation to keep up eating healthy! I have been to many cooking shows but what is special about May is that not only she cooks well but she adds nutritional tips that make you aware of what you are eating and why! She is so knowledgeable that you can literally ask her everything on nutrition! Yet she is so open to listen to other people’s way of doing things, never had the “I-know-it-all” approach… the which thing makes her even more adorable 😍
Then I loved cycling to the vineyards, reading in the garden, sunbathing by the pool, dining “al fresco”, and having the opportunity to meet a lovely group of new people🙏
