May Simpkin - Qualified Personalised Nutrition MSc, mBANT, CNHC, IFM, RSM
As a qualified UK-registered Nutritionist and a real woman with busy family life, I am here to share with you a simple, no-nonsense approach when it comes to healthy eating – backed up with expert qualified recommendations. I believe in easy, practical, achievable food!
I was born and raised in the UK to Egyptian parents. In our household, food was always a big feature – Egyptians love food and love to feed their loved ones! As a family, we travelled extensively and my interest in food was nurtured from a very young age. The smell of cooking permanently wafted through our house with traditional, delicious and flavoursome meals always on offer in huge portions! The downside to this rich heritage was that, as a child and teenager, I was overweight and embarked on a series of terrible fad diets consisting of mounds of lettuce leaves, processed meats and salad cream with tasteless crispbreads. Needless to say, with little support, limited knowledge and minimal success, my adolescent years were not easy.READ MORE
With a Master’s science degree in Personalised Nutrition and years of clinical experience, you can be confident that I provide sound recommendations and the latest research into nutrition.
I am a registered nutritionist, bound by the code of ethics in clinical practice and have met the strict criteria required for BANT, the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy and the CNHC, Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, which is the council recommended by the UK Department of Health for complementary and natural healthcare services. In addition, I am registered with the IFM, The Institute for Functional Medicine and a member of the RSM, The Royal Society of Medicine.
Why work with me?
My approach is realistic, practical and achievable and will be easy to follow. There are no drastic fads or elimination diets that are difficult to adhere to. We go back to real food, meal choices and meal timing that work for you, as an individual or as part of a couple or family/group of friends.
Many of the recommendations I make are ones that I myself live by. All the recipes I propose here on my website, as part of the cooking demonstrations or in the clinic, have been made and tested in my kitchen at home. Most of my photos are of the actual dishes that were prepared by me (and duly devoured!).
In other words, it’s achievable and accessible!
How will I help you achieve your health goals?

- Provide a sound understanding of your nutritional requirements
- Discuss a specific protocol to help you achieve your health goals, which will include diet/lifestyle recommendations, meal/recipe suggestions and if necessary, supplement the advice and nutritional laboratory tests to gain further insight into your health status.
This appointment takes approximately 1hr 15mins. Prior to your first consultation, you will be asked to complete a health questionnaire and a 5-day food diary. This will ensure that the consultation time is used effectively to discuss your goals and individual recommendations.
